Alec Baldwin Faces 5 years In Jail For Involuntary Manslaughter

WRITTEN BY SARAH KANDARI

American actor and comedian, Alec Baldwin is facing five years in prison for the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Alec Baldwin was on set shooting for the movie under development in 'Rust' in New Mexico.

'It's Complicated' actor and  set armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed both are charged with involuntary manslaughter

Baldwin claims that the armorer failed to check whether the revolver, the weapon of manslaughter, was loaded or not. He further contests that Hutchins told him to aim the revolver at the camera.

He stated that he cocked the revolver but never touched the trigger. However, videos from the church set show that Alec did have his finger on the trigger.

Ballisics from FBI show that the revolver "functioned normally".

FBI shared that the round found at the movie set did not match the dummy rounds and blanks bought from PDQ in Albuquerque as stated by Hannah Gutierrez-Reed.

A preliminary hearing is usually heald within 60 days that will decide if there is a  probable cause to move forward with a trial.
