After much speculation, Amber Heard's participation in the 'Aquaman' sequel is now official.
Amber Heard appeared as Mera in the 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom' trailer presented at CinemaCon 2023.
Following her high-profile divorce from ex-husband Johnny Depp, fans worldwide wanted her out of DC Cinematic Universe.
Amber Heard's diminished role in the DC movie starring Jason Mamoa came under question during the trial.
She blamed her reduced extent of participation in the movie on Johnny Depp and his legal team, claiming it happened because Depp's lawyers referred to her abuse claims as a "hoax."
Her claims were refuted by DC film head Walter Hamada, who cited her reduced role as a lack of chemistry with Jason Mamoa. Her role is now a brief cameo.
For a while, the internet was buzzing with the rumor of Amber Heard as Mera being replaced by 'Game Of Thrones' star Emilia Clarke.
Directed by James Wan, 'Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom' has a release date of December 20, 2023.
