Black Panther Actress Angela Bassett Accused Of Being 'Sore Loser' In Viral Oscar Moment

Although Angela Bassett was nominated for an award for her performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, she did not emerge as a winner.

Bassett was nominated in the category of the Best Supporting Actress but Jamie Lee Curtis took away the award for her appearance in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Cameras were focusing on the nominees and presenters Ariana DeBose and Troy Kotsur and while Jamie’s face was on focus, the rest of the nominees were not looking thrilled.

Social media users spotted that Bassett was not applauding or smiling once Jamie’s name was revealed as the winner and she was criticized for being a “sore loser.”

Despite not winning the award, Bassett made history as she was the first actor to be nominated for an Oscar from a Marvel film.

However, Michael B. Jordan also went on stage to present an award and he immediately showcased his support towards Bassett by shouting “Hey Auntie.”

Although social media was flooded with criticisms towards Bassett, there were a lot of people who were showing their support towards her.

The 95th Academy Awards was held on March 12, 2023 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and the event was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel for the third time.
