WRITTEN BY Arushi Rai
Brie Larson in an interview made a comment that made Jeremy Reener fire back. She said, I am committed to self-improvement and I work at being the best person I can be and using this platform for as much good as I can."
She continued,"It doesn’t mean I don’t make mistakes, but I’m very comfortable with that and allowing myself to learn from those mistakes.”
Reener remarked “I’m pretty accountable and responsible in my own life at any rate. Celebrity isn’t something that I use as any sort of platform to be more responsible or accountable, I suppose."
He continued,"It’s certainly an absolute blessing to see the joy on kids’ faces. I don’t think there is a feeling that comes close to that.”
After this Larson went on to made a comment that made the Marvel sharpshooter Hawkeye to backfire.
“The movie was the biggest and best opportunity I could have ever asked for. It was, like, my superpower. This could be my form of activism: doing a film that can play all over the world and be in more places than I can be physically.”
She continued, I don’t need a 40-year-old white dude to tell me what didn’t work about A Wrinkle in Time. It wasn’t made for him! I want to know what it meant to women of color, biracial women, to teen women of color, to teens that are biracial.”
Jeremy Renner made the comment to say that one doesn't need the status of a celebrity for activism or doing good deeds for the people.
