Dave Bautista Doesn’t Want To Play Bane In DCEU And James Gunn Is The Reason

WRITTEN BY SUMI DEKA

Dave Bautista is famous among the public for his appearance as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy films.

However, he always wished to portray Bane from DCEU and he spoke about the same in 2021. But Bautista’s vision was completely different.

Bautista wanted Bane to be evil and intelligent as he thought that it will bring some twist to the character and do justice.

In an interview with Insider, Bautista said that he expressed the same to James Gunn and he supports Gunn’s decision about starting DCEU from the scratch.

Bautista clarified that he cannot spend 15 years as Bane as he believes that he is not ready to give such commitment for now.

Bautista stated that because Gunn has decided to entirely reboot the DCEU, Gunn has to cast younger actors and that is not possible with him.

Dave Bautista will reprise his role as Drax the Destroyer in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is releasing on May 5, 2023.

Bautista will also portray Glossu Rabban in the sequel to Dune, Dune: Part Two, which is directed by Denis Villeneuve and is releasing on November 3, 2023.
