On November 4th, 2022, Twitter and Elon Musk started the layoffs saga firing more than half the global workforce

But, Musk did not stop there. He sent an ultimatum to the remaining employees that they should either adapt to the "hardcore" work environment or leave with three months' severance.

However, the employees at Twitter staged a walkout. The employees also filed a class-action lawsuit against him and Twitter for not providing prior notice before the mass layoffs.

Shannon Liss-Riordan is representing the former Twitter employees who filed multiple class-action lawsuits

Elon Musk provided a separation contract to every former employee in order to drop the lawsuits. It contained the offer for their severance pay

However, the employees were not happy with the offer, because it was less than what was assured to them.

Shannon has filed 100 more demands for arbitration after the employees' discontent. She said that for Musk, the lawsuits will be more expensive than paying the severances that he initially offered

The former women employees at Twitter accused him of discrimination with regard to the mass layoffs where 57% of women were fired against 47% of the male employees
