On Monday, Elon Musk took to Twitter to write: "They trained illegally using Twitter data. Lawsuit time."
This tweet was directed toward Microsoft over claims that they used the company's data for their training.
It came in response to the announcement that Microsoft's advertising platform made about the tech giant ending their support of Twitter.
This is mainly because of the changes needed in Twitter’s payment to access its Application Programming Interface (API).
Though Musk's legal threat is still unclear, one can assume he is not happy with OpenAI using Twitter's data to train their products like the chatbot ChatGPT.
OpenAI has received significant financial backing from Microsoft. The advertising platform of Microsoft has stated that it will “no longer support Twitter” from April 25th, 2023.
Musk has been a vocal critic of AI softwards lately. especially ChatGPT.
He was also one of those industry experts to sign an open letter demanding an immediate halt on AI experiments.
