Elon Musk Says Bots With "Good Content" Gets Free API

WRITTEN BY YASH SINGH

Elon Musk has been trying to make several changes in Twitter since he took over.

This includes certain features that instantly backfired for the company.

Recently, Musk said that Twitter will let bots making "good content" on the platform use the API for free.

"Responding to feedback, Twitter will enable a light, write-only API for bots providing good content that is free", he tweeted.

This marks a reverse in Musk's policy  that puts API access behind a paywall.

The company has shut third party clients like Tweetbot and Twitterrific.

Last week, twitter announced that tdevelopers will have to sign up for a “paid basic tier” to access Twitter’s API from February 9.

Musk has been making drastic changes in the company to cut costs like not paying office rents.
