Musk’s tenure as the Twitter chief has been filled with drastic moments day in and day out. All the drama piling up, accompanied by financial losses, is maybe taking a toll on the billionaire.
On Tuesday, Musk took to Twitter to talk about stepping down as the company’s CEO.
“I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software & servers teams,” he wrote.
Even if Musk decides to step down as the CEO, he will have control over the micro-blogging site.
This is because he finalized the deal to buy it for $44 billion after a long legal battle. In the past, he has expressed his interest in hiring a permanent CEO for Twitter.
On December 19, Musk conducted a poll asking users, “Should I step down as head of Twitter? I will abide by the results of this poll.” In the poll, over 57.6 percent of users said Yes and around 42.4 percent clicked on No.
The poll received nearly 17 million votes. Musk responded with “interesting” after users pointed out that the poll was skewed by votes from fake profiles.
Blue subscribers should be the only ones that can vote in policy related polls”, a user said. Musk tweeted in response, “Good point. Twitter will make that change.”
