Elon Musk Warns About OpenAI

Elon Musk has had hit tryst with artificial intelligence as he was one of the co-founders of OpenAI.

The company, which now owns and operates ChatGPT, is backed by Microsoft.

On Friday, the billionaire took to Twitter to ascertain his belief from five years back that AI is ‘far more dangerous than nukes’.

OpenAI was created as an open source (which is why I named it “Open” AI), non-profit company to serve as a counterweight to Google, but now it has become a closed source, maximum-profit company effectively controlled by Microsoft. Not what I intended at all,” he tweeted.

In 2018, Musk resigned from the board of directors of OpenAI as Tesla was planning to expand in the field of artificial intelligence.

“I had to focus on solving a painfully large number of engineering and manufacturing problems at Tesla (especially) and SpaceX", Musk said in 2019.

He has said that AI has “both positives and negatives” but is a ‘great danger‘ as well.

This comes amid Musk and other tech moguls and corps are observing steady rise and popularity of ChatGPT.
