Elon Musk's Twitter Changes Description Of Verified Users

Elon Musk's Twitter has started the Twitter Blue feature once again after it was briefly discontinued.

On Sunday, the micro-blogging site made another change for its paid users, that fall under Twitter Blue policy.

Twitter has updated the language in the description of verified users. As a result, one cannot tell who has and who hasn't paid for their blue check mark.

On April 1, 2023, the company started removing check marks from users who got the badge before Musk took over.

The description text for both new as well as legacy verified users are same now. “This account is verified because it’s subscribed to Twitter Blue or is a legacy verified account,” it reads.

Earlier, the description read: "This is a legacy verified account. It may or may not be notable.”

Musk has stated that the subscription plan is rolled out to generate profit and to end discrimination among common people and celebrities.

However, his move has not been received well from users as until now, the verified check marks were free.
