George R. R. Martin recently said that HBO canceled several spinoffs of their fantasy series ‘Game of Thrones‘ after its terrible finale.

Martin wrote in his blog that a couple of potential spinoffs have been “shelved.”

He also said that the delays are due to “all the changes at HBO Max.”

The author said that he is working on “several of the other [Game of Thrones] successor shows that we’re developing with HBO.”

A couple have been shelved, but I would not agree that they are dead. All the changes at HBO Max have impacted us, certainly”, he wrote.

The maiden season of GOT’s spinoff series ‘House of the Dragon‘ met with universal acclaim.

It has been renewed for a second season which is expected to go on the floor in 2023.

The spinoff and prequel show is based on Martin's 'Fire & Blood' novel.
