Selena Gomez eventually decided to speak out on the longtime TikTok discourse about Hailey Bieber’s treatment towards her and their history.
Hailey recently broke her silence and commented on how she is being treated online. She explained that she and Selena had been privately talking for weeks on how to handle everything.
Hailey also followed Selena again on Instagram after Selena made the first move and followed Hailey. Hailey also shared an official statement on Instagram.
Hailey started by thanking Selena for speaking out because they have been discussing for the past few weeks on how to move past the ongoing narrative between her and Gomez.
She added that the last few weeks have been hard for everyone involved and millions of people are witnessing a lot of hate which is very harmful for everyone.
She stated that social media is helpful to connect and build communities and moments like this only lead to extreme division instead of bringing people together.
Hailey Bieber added that things can be taken out of context or construed differently than they were intended. She said that people need to be thoughtful on what they say.
She concluded by saying that she believes love will always be bigger than hate and negativity and there is a chance to meet each other with more empathy and compassion.
