Harvey Weinstein Faces Life Sentence In Prison After Los Angeles Trial

WRITTEN BY SUMI DEKA

Harvey Weinstein’s problems have increased again as he has been sentenced to 16 years in prison after a long history of controversies in all these years.

The verdict comes three months after Weinstein was convicted of rape and sexual assault in Los Angeles and he was accused of the same back in 2020.

Following the accusations that were made in 2020, Weinstein was sent to prison for 23 years and now the jail term has increased.

He was found guilty on three counts of rape and sexual assault against a victim who was a model and actor and testified as Jane Doe #1.

However, accusations of raping a massage therapist were dropped along with charges linked to raping two other women.

Jane Doe #1 was also seen weeping at the court when she spoke about the impact of the sexual assault and rape on her life.

She said that the effects of the rape is raw and difficult even after 10 years and there is no prison sentence long enough to undo the damage.

Prior to his conviction, many women spoke out publicly against Harvey Weinstein and were worried that he might get released if he wins his appeal in New York.
