Kurama is the nine-tailed beast. The tailed beasts were made by Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki when he split the Chakra of the ten tails, or the Juubi, into nine different parts.
Kurama was unfortunately used by multiple people in the past as a weapon and that caused him to harbor a grudge against humanity.
Tailed beasts are made purely of chakra and when they exhaust their chakra, they disappear. Kurama will be resurrected after a very long time.
Fans believe it is possible to revive Kurama by extracting the chakra from other tailed beasts. However, it would be difficult to track down the tailed beasts.
It would be more difficult to resurrect Kurama through it. In addition to that, Kurama's death was symbolic in 'Boruto'.
It was done to make the fans realize that the age of Uzumaki Naruto was over and he was no longer the strongest character in the series.
Whilst Naruto didn't become weak by any means, he most definitely lost a significant amount of power.
Due to the difficult method of resurrection and the symbolism of Kurama's death, it is highly unlikely that he would be revived in the series.
