American Rapper, Hurricane G, born Gloria Rodriguez, who rose to fame in the 90s passed away on November 6, 2022. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, and is a former member of Def Squad.
A rap artist from the United States of Puerto Rican descent, she amassed a sizable fan base in the US within her life span. She was also the first female member of the Hit squad.
She rose to fame in the mid-1990s after appearing on Redman’s 1992 hit ‘Tonight’s da Night’. Her debut album ‘All Woman’ in 1997 turned out to be a massive success. Prior to her debut, she worked with Redman on ‘Dare Iz a Darkside’ and also collaborated with Xzibit on the track ‘At the Speed of Life’.
Hurricane G died on Sunday, November 6, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones. The news of her death was confirmed shortly later. However, no cause of death was revealed that led to Hurricane G’s death. The revolutionary rapper has left behind her daughter, Lexus, who revealed that her mother was suffering from lung cancer. “My mom has stage 4 lung cancer,” she wrote.
Fans believe that Hurricane G died of lung cancer as she had been struggling with the disease for a long time and was in its terminal phase.
