James Cameron On 'Stranger Things' Teen Actors

WRITTEN BY YASH SINGH

Jim Cameron has spent years of his life building the world of Pandora. In ‘Avatar: The Way of Water‘, he also had to deal with teen actors as the story focuses on a family.

Cameron said the reason why he simultaneously shot most of the sequels was that he didn’t want his teen actors to age poorly.

One of the cast members, Champion, was “growing like a weed” when cast in the film which was a concern for Cameron.

Otherwise, you get — and I love ‘Stranger Things’ — but you get the ‘Stranger Things’ effect where they’re supposed to still be in high school [but] they look like they’re 27,” Cameron said.

He further said, “You know, I love the show. It’s okay, we’ll suspend disbelief. We like the characters, but, you know.”

The director shot two sequels at once and waited for filming until all the scripts were finalized.

Shooting two-three films simultaneously were something Cameron took inspiration from Peter Jackson’s ‘The Lord of the Rings‘.

Cameron said that they took the chance to launch all three of them at once which he has tried to do with 'Avatar.'
