James Gunn Demolishes Casting Rumors As He Preps 'Superman: Legacy'

James Gunn took the time to discredit the "b******t" casting rumors circulating the internet about 'Superman: Legacy.'

Currently preparing the storyboards for 'Superman: Legacy,' Gunn briefly stopped by his social media account to urge people to ignore the updates that don't come from him.

In a tweet, he mentioned 'Superman: Legacy' being in the "storyboarding" phase.

In a follow-up tweet, he also responded to an inquiry, saying his progress on 'Superman' is currently "far from the first draft."

James Gunn's fresh take on the Superman myth focuses on "balancing his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing."

Some sources have reported David Corenswet as the front-runner for Superman, while Nicholas Hoult is said to be in contention for Lex Luthor.

Emma Mackey, Phoebe Dynevor, Samara Weaving, and Rachel Brosnahan are in the running for Lois Lane. The Hollywood Reporter reported that Brosnahan delivered an "outstanding" audition.

Written and directed by James Gunn, 'Superman: Legacy' has a release date of July 11, 2025.
