A picture of former Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake has recently gone viral where she was spotted attending the Super Bowl VII.

She was spotted sitting during the controversial playing of the Black national anthem before the fame which was held at the State Farm Stadium on Sunday.

A photo of Lake refusing to stand for the anthem was also shared on social media and this raised a lot of questions on social media.

Responding to the comments coming on the post, Lake said that she went to attend the game only for the national anthem.

The Black national anthem called Lift Every Voice and Sing was played prior to the National Anthem before the game and it led to some controversy.

NAACP website reported that the song was written by their leader James Weldon Johnson in 1990 and it was initially a poem which later became a hymn.

The anthem was also played during the Super Bowl in 2020 and the before the league’s 2021 season, it was confirmed that the song will be played before all games.

The controversy related to the song has been expanding outside NFL. A Florida elementary school even sent permission slips to parents so that the students can learn the song.
