Lizzo Played James Madison's Crystal Flute; Creates History

Lizzo stunned the audience at Washington D.C., with her flutist skills. But, the cherry on the top was that the flute belonged to James Madison! And she was 'good as hell!'

It all started when Carla Hayden, the curator at the Library Of Congress invited Lizzo to play one of the 140 flutes in their collection with the special mention of teh Crystal flute of James Madison

Lizzo agreed to the offer and she flew to the national capital on Monday to practice the flutes, especially the James Madison one.

The Flute was devised by Claude Laurent, a Parisian mechanic. He customized a new one in honor of the US' President, James Madison.

James Madison's wife Dolley Madison saved the flute during the Britain War of 1812. The flute was passed on to her son, John Todd. It was later passed to Boyle family, who handed it to the US Museum. Dayton Miller is who handed it to the library

Finally, Lizzo had the honor to play the flute. It was not played since the Madison days, but finally it got a true artist to perform the wood-wind instrument.
