Man Eaten Alive By Bed Bugs In Jail Cell In Atlanta US

A man was eaten alive by insects and bed bugs inside a jail cell in Atlanta. The claim was made by the man’s family lawyer.
Identified as Lashawn Thompson, he was in the psychiatric wing in the Fulton County Jail on a misdemeanor. He was judged mentally ill by the officials.
Family attorney Michael D Harper released pictures showing Thompson’s body riddled with bugs. Michael has also asked for a criminal investigation.
Harper mentioned in a statement that the jail cell where Thompson was kept was not fit for a diseased animal and he did not deserve this.
Fulton County Medical Examiner’s report stated that Lashawn was discovered unresponsive in his jail cell on September 19, 2022.
The incident happened three months after his arrest and was pronounced dead. USA Today reported that local police and medical personnel tried to resuscitate him.
According to Harper, jail records show detention officers and medical staff spotted Thompson’s condition deteriorating but did nothing to help him.
The medical examiner’s report mentioned that there was a severe bed bug infestation in his cell in the psychiatric ward but there were no signs of trauma on Thompson’s body.
