Nicolas Cage has opened up about the moment he regrets the most while preparing for a film role.

During a scene in his film 'Vampire's Kiss,' the young, reckless actor ate live, disgusting cockroaches.

Nicolas Cage played a literary agent who is convinced he's a vampire. He begins to wear fangs and stalk women at night.

In a conversation with Yahoo News, Nicolas Cage regretted eating the roaches, saying, "I'll never do that again. I'm sorry I did it at all."

The director originally wanted Cage to eat raw eggs for the scene, but Cage took it to the extreme with his improvised suggestion.

Inspired by Ozzy Osbourne, Nicolas Cage asked for a live bat to be eaten instead of raw eggs.

Due to the obvious dangers of eating a bat, Nicolas Cage settled with eating roaches for his important scene.

He also demanded hot yogurt to be poured on his feet during his intimate scene with Jennifer Beals.
