The Grammy-winning musician Questlove has been tapped to direct the live-action/hybrid remake of 'The Aristocats.'
Questlove previously directed the 2021 Oscar-nominated documentary 'Summer Of Soul' about the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival.
Questlove also won the Grand Jury Prize for 'Summer Of Soul' at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.
Questlove will also look after the production and music duties for his feature film directorial debut.
'The Aristocats' follows the story of cats who get robbed of their inheritance by a greedy butler.
The butler kidnaps the cats and leaves them in the countryside. They team up with retired army dogs and a stray cat to find their way back.
Directed by Wolfgang Reitherman, the 1970s animated feature made $191 million against its $4 million budget.
Questlove, aka Ahmir Khalib Thompson, is the founding member of the Philadelphia-based band 'The Roots.'
