Taylor Swift announced during her 'Eras' tour that she will release her version of 'Speak Now' on July 7, 2023.
Taylor released 'Speak Now' in 2010, which became her first commercially successful album, selling one million copies in its debut week.
Like every other album, she included songs dedicated to her exes including, 'Back to December,' and 'Dear John.'
Taylor Swift wrote 'Back to December' for her 'Valentine's Day' co-star, Taylor Lautner, after dating him for three months in 2009.
The songstress dedicated 'Dear John' to her ex, John Mayer, whom she dated after breaking up with Lautner.
Now, during an interview with Today, Taylor declared that 'Speak Now' is Swift's best album, and he feels safe about re-recording. But he mentioned Mayer. and said that he is praying for him.
In 'Dear John,' Taylor Swift dissed John Mayer because she felt that he exploited her while she loved him deeply. Taylor was 13 years younger than Mayer.
John Mayer opened up about the song during an interview, and he expressed that he was humiliated and caught off-guard due to the song.
