During a recent BBC interview, Tom Hanks has come out with his support for Idris Elba playing the iconic spy James Bond.

Tom Hanks told BBC, Understand this, James Bond has a license to kill. I would issue that license to Idris Elba just based on the work that I've seen him do."

In the past, Pierce Brosnan also gave Elba his stamp of approval, saying he "would be magnificent" as the next in line to be the 007 agent.

Despite being heavily linked to as the next James Bond, Idris Elba has repeatedly denied any interest in the long-standing franchise.

Daniel Craig, who took over from Pierce Brosnan, will not return for future James Bond movies.

Daniel Craig appeared as James Bond in 'Casino Royale,' 'Quantum Of Solace,' 'Skyfall,' and 'Spectre.'

The 2021 film 'No Time To Die' was Daniel Craig's final outing as James Bond.

Henry Cavill, James Norton, Tom Hardy, and George MacKay are some of the actors in contention to be the next James Bond.
