Who Is Taylor Lorenz?

To the list of people, Elon Musk banned from Twitter is another name-Taylor Lorenz. The Twitter CEO, Elon Musk has been banning critical journalists from the social media platform.

Taylor Lorenz is an American journalist from The Washington Post. She previously worked as a technology reporter for The New York Times, The Daily Beast, and Business Insider.

Taylor is interested in covering news related to internet culture. She had also worked for The Daily Mail as social media editor.

The tech columnist was suspended from Twitter on December 17, 2022, after she tweeted a request to the Twitter CEO for a comment on a story that she was working with.

“Earlier tonight, Elon Musk suspended my Twitter account. I received zero communication from the company on why I was suspended or what terms I violated,” she wrote on her Substack account.

The journalist had tried to contact the billionaire over the week regarding her work and Twitter was her last resort. She had just tagged Musk and had not even specified the topic she wanted to discuss.

On December 15, 2022, Twitter had banned  CNN’s Donie O’Sullivan, The New York Times’ Ryan Mac, and The Washington Post’s Drew Harwell. Independent journalist like Aaron Rupar, former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann, and also the Insider columnist Linette Lopez.

Though the accounts of these journalists became viewable on Saturday, the account holders were not able to post anything through the account.
