Who Was Barbara Walters?


The US television journalist Barbara Walters dies on December 30, 2022 at the age of 93.

She broke barriers by becoming the first female host on an American network evening news, 

She created the popular ABC women's talk show "The View" in 1997.

Her journalism career spanned over five decades which made her a very prominent figure on television. 

Walters interviewed an array of world leaders including Margaret Thatcher, Saddam Hussain, Fidel Castro and so on. 

For 29 years, Barbara also hosted a  pre-Oscars interview program with Academy Award nominees. 

Barbara won 12 Emmy awards, of which 11 were for her work at ABC News.

The television icon passed away at her home in New York.
