Why Does Shigaraki Wear Hands

Who Is Shigaraki? The main antagonists of the manga and anime series My Hero Academia is Tomura Shigaraki, real name Tenko Shimura.

He is the leader of the League of Villains, the successor of All For One. He has deep hatred for Hero's due to his tragic past, and wants to change the society. He has a perfect villan backstory.

Why Does He Wear Hands On His Face? The hands belonged to Tenko's grandmother, mother, father, sister Hana, and his grandparents, all of whom he killed with his quirk when it first appeared.

Later, All For One would add two additional sets of hands—belonging to the first two thugs Tenko had killed—to complete Tomura Shigaraki's transformation.

It comes out that All For One made the hand attachments for Tenko to wear in order to constantly remind him of the boy's itch for killing and destruction and, consequently, to constantly remind him that the itch is what actually defines him as "Tomura Shigaraki."

"I always want you to keep them close to you," All For One proclaims in voiceover as we watch Tomura's first kill. "So that those feelings never fade. His Family's hand will restrain him... keep him in check... with his memories locked away, it's only his unstable emotions that float to the surface. And that unease... Look he's keeping his own quirk in check subconsciously."
