Why Elon Musk Is Restricting Content From Other Platforms?

Elon Musk has introduced a new restrictive policy wherein the users cannot upload a link on Twitter from other social media platforms.

The Twitter Support Account and Elon Musk updated the new rules, wherein it will suspend accounts of users who will link content from other platforms.

The platforms include the Elon Musk-led Twitter's competitors like Mastodon, Facebook, Instagram, and Donald Trump's Truth Social.

After one of the Twitter users pointed that it is absurd to completely ban users for uploading link, Elon tweaked the policy.

Elon Musk later said that those accounts whose *primary* purpose is to promote other social media platforms will be suspended.

Twitter's Support account also updated that it will no longer allow users to promote other social media platforms.

Elon Musk made exception that these restricted platforms can promote the platforms with paid content.

Elon Musk also released a poll asking its users whether he should step down as the CEO. Majority of the people agreed that he should do so.
