The ‘One For All’ is a very powerful quirk in ‘My Hero Academia’ anime that helps its users achieve a never known before power level and also help them unlocking many abilities hidden in their own body.
In the series there is a group that possess One For All, the most potent quirk in existence, which was passed down from generation to generation before being received by All Might, the eighth user, and finally Izuku Midoriya.

What Is ‘One For All’ In ‘My Hero Academia’?
When quirks started to become widespread among people and social collapse started to result from them, a villain by the name of All For One profited from the anarchy. He had the power to take other people’s quirks and give them away, using people as pawns to rule over Japan like a king and promise to restore order in a time of anarchy.
Yoichi, his younger brother, spoke out against his oppression and called him out on his wrongdoings, but he was apprehended by All For One’s bodyguard. Although Yoichi’s brother betrayed him because he lacked a quirk, he assured him that he still loved him because he was the only member of his family and chose to imprison him over killing him.
He later went to visit his imprisoned brother and told him that his group of rebels had killed people. Yoichi was disgusted by this and shouted at his brother. Angered by this, All For One forcibly gave his brother a quirk. But unknown to anyone, his brother already had a quirk that was useless except for the fact that it was transferable. This caused the two quirks to merge and become the One For All that Midoriya possesses now.
The Successors Of The Quirk
Due to their disparity in power, Yoichi was unable to beat him, so he vowed to grow One For All and pass it on to future generations of deserving successors in the hopes that all of their combined Quirks will be sufficient to finally destroy All For One. Because of the danger that villains might learn that the most potent Quirk could be transferred, each entrusted user was given the duty to keep One For All hidden from the general population.
All For One wanted to possess One For All for himself, so he engaged each user in combat and murdered them all one by one, but not before they had passed One For All on to their respective successors. The thing about One For All is that the predecessors become a part of the quirk after they die. For instance, the sixth user of the quirk would be able to use all the techniques the previous users utilized and he could learn new skills as well.
The predecessors were also sometimes visible to the users in the form of visions, but Midoriya, the ninth user, could communicate with them as well. The users were asked to hide the quirk from the world. This was because it would wreak havoc if their enemies knew that the most potent quirk was transferrable.
Strongest Users Of ‘One For All’ Quirk In ‘My Hero Academia’
This quirk gets stronger with each generation. This means the first generation was the weakest whilst the newest generation would be the strongest. All Might used to be the strongest hero to possess this quirk. He also became the number one hero with it. However, Deku, or Izuku Midoriya, is said to surpass him. Deku can use attacks that All Might could not, for instance, the Black Whip.
Izuku is yet to master the power completely. He used to break the bones in his body when he first used this quirk, but he is improving himself. He has the advantage of being the latest user and being able to be coached by someone who used to possess the same quirk. In addition to that, Izuku can use the techniques of the previous users that All Might was not able to.
