Who Are The Visored In Bleach ?

The Visored or the Vizards are the antithesis to the Arrancar, or simply speaking, they are the opposite of the Arrancar for they both possess Shinigami and Hollows powers. The Visored are former Shinigami at the captain and lieutenant levels. They are viewed as traitors by the Soul Society due to their past positions as leaders within the organization and for breaking the greatest taboo of obtaining Hollow powers.

Kisuke Urahara played an important part in the Visored controlling their inner hollow. He used his Hogyoku to try and turn them back into proper shinigami but the hogyoku did not do what he intended instead stabilized the transformation and turned them into the visored they are today. History Of The Visored

Whilst the Arrancar started as hollow and then got shinigami powers, the visored were Captain and Lieutenant level shinigami in the gotei 13 before they got hollow powers. The Visored, who started as Shinigami, look fully Human. Their abilities are indistinguishable from regular Shinigami.

A Visored puts on a Hollow mask to activate their Hollow abilities. This gives them access to some of the more basic Hollow powers as well as the ability to add Hollow powers to their Shinigami skills. Their spiritual pressure also transforms into a hybrid of Shinigami and Hollow. Hollowfication is the process of putting on one’s Hollow mask. The Visored prefer a loosely knit group structure over any kind of hierarchy.

True Motive Of The Visored

They appear withdrawn and just devoted to themselves when they speak to Ichigo Kurosaki. However, according to Kisuke Urahara, they are still seen as crucial allies in the conflict with Sosuke Aizen’s Arrancar army. The Visoreds are not interested in anything but their group, so it strikes the fans as strange when they come up to talk to Ichigo. The Visored end up being beneficial to Ichigo as they teach him not only how to control his inner hollow, but also how to hollowfy on purpose.

Their true goals are eventually made known when they reach the Battle of the Fake Karakura Town. The Vizard have no animosity against the Gotei 13 despite the circumstances that led to them being declared criminals by Soul Society 100 years ago, but they prefer not to view the former group they belonged to as their allies either. Instead, they declare that they are allies of Ichigo Kurosaki and expressly declare that they are adversaries of Aizen and, thus, the Espada.

When a Hollow with an Asauchi-like physical makeup enters someone’s soul and merges with their Zanpakuto, the result is a Vizard. However, Ichigo’s reason to hollowfy is different and is revealed in the manga during the Thousand Year Blood War Arc.
