Golden Globes host Jo Koy has been under fire for making a tasteless joke on Taylor Swift and her being featured during NFL games. Naturally, Swift gave an unamusing response to the jokes, leading to backlash faced by the host at the hands of internet users.
Though Swift did not personally give any statement in response to the joke, Jo Koy talked about it and responded to Taylor’s reaction. Here’s what he said.

What Joke Did Jo Koy Make On Taylor Swift?
Taylor Swift blessed the show with her presence – making it her first public appearance of the year. Accompanied by Miles Teller’s wife Keleigh Teller and bestie Selena Gomez, Swift sat through the evening with a wine glass and good company.
As Jo Koy took the stage to host, he happened to make a rather upsetting comment on Taylor Swift and how she is shown during the NFL games. Koy said, “As you know, we came on after a football doubleheader. The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL? At the Golden Globes, we have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift.”
The camera then panned to Swift, showing her sipping on her wine and giving a subtle glare.

In the past, the artist has talked about her feelings about the NFL showing her too much during the games and people responding to it. During an interview with TIME she said “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once. I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
Jo Koy then reacted to Swift’s response while talking on the red carpet.

Jo Koy’s Response To Swift’s Reaction To His Joke
On the red carpet after the show, Entertainment Tonight spoke to the host about the incident and how he feels about Swift’s response.
Koy said “Aww, man, it was cute. I was just saying it was cute. I was just saying it’s less cutaways, that’s all.”
The interviewer then brought up Swift’s response of sipping wine after the joke and said, “Maybe she was thirsty? Maybe she just needed to drink the champagne.”
Koy then said “Aww, man,” and shook his hand and left.
