    “I Want to Give Them Stability”- Benedict Cumberbatch Reveals He Is Housing A Ukrainian Family That Fled The War

    Benedict Cumberbatch is an actor from England. He has played so many roles over the course of his career with Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Strange being the most prominent. Currently, He is a part of the British government’s “homes for Ukraine” initiative, which would allow British citizens to take in Ukrainian refugees.

    Recently, he revealed that he has been hosting a Ukrainian family fleeing the violence.

    Speaking on the matter Cumberbatch said, “They’ve made it out of Ukraine; I’m monitoring their progress every day,” Cumberbatch said. “Sadly, they are undergoing some medical treatment. To say anything more about that would be an invasion of their privacy. The too much about when they’re coming and how that’s being managed would invade mine. I want to give them some stability after the turmoil that they’ve experienced, and that’s within my home.”

    Cumberbatch also claimed that he is assisting other migrants escaping Ukraine by paying for their shelter in the UK. The Oscar nominee is collaborating with Ukrainian families in the United Kingdom. Who are unable to bear the whole expense of sheltering their extended relatives as they abandon their homeland.

    “I’ve been trying to help out with that financially in a couple of instances,” Cumberbatch spoke.

    Cumberbatch Pushed His Hollywood Peers To Act

    Cumberbatch pushed his Hollywood counterparts to do the same before confirming his arrangements to shelter a Ukrainian family. In a press conference at the British Academy Film Awards in March, the actor urged Hollywood stars to give and urged British officials to establish some form of the refugee center.

    “We need to push our politicians to continue to create some kind of a refugee … haven here for people that are suffering,” Cumberbatch said.

    “Everyone needs to do as much as they can. I think already today the news has broke that there’s been a record number of people volunteering to take people into their homes. I hope to be part of that myself.”

    Cumberbatch received a BAFTA nomination for his role in “The Power of the Dog,” and also recieved a nomination for an Academy Award.

    Cumberbatch’s next project is a return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.” It will hit cinemas in the United States on May 6.
