Parenting is not everyone’s cup of tea. Every day, you learn and unlearn a bunch of things that you hardly had any idea about. And it seems like the ‘Breaking Bad‘ star, Aaron Paul, is finally in this phase of parenting where he’s ready to make some major habit changes.
Recently, Paul shared a very personal moment with his daughter that left him deeply affected and prompted him to reconsider how he spends his time with children.
What Made Aaron Paul Rethink His Parenthood Style

Aaron Paul shares a 7-year-old daughter named Story with his wife. During his appearance on the WSJ Tech Live on Instagram, Aaron revealed an incident involving his daughter. Paul recalled how his little girl came in running a year ago to ask him a question when he was swamped finishing a quick email. However, what surprised Paul the most was how his daughter suddenly stopped asking and went off to play on her own. And that hit Aaron’s hard.

In an instant, Aaron put down his phone and went on to talk to his daughter. The first thing he did was apologize to his daughter, and said, “I want to say I’m sorry for not being responsive to you, and I want to make a pact with you. I want to promise Daddy’s not gonna be on his phone when he’s with you anymore.” But what broke Aaron’s heart more was when his daughter replied, saying, “Really?” Just really. Even though Aaron has secured many awards in his career, when his daughter hugged him, it seemed like the best one yet.
Aaron Has A Message For All Parents

Aaron Paul is not only a father to Story, but he also has a 3-year-old son, Ryder, with Lauren. Being the father of two now, he very well realizes that “as parents we owe it to our kids to at least give it a shot when it comes to putting aside technology whenever possible.” But the same thought isn’t shared by everyone.

Aaron himself has shared that “I was having dinner earlier, and it felt like such doom and gloom. They’re like, ‘No, you’re gonna get left behind.‘” But Aaron couldn’t agree with them. He said, “You can choose whether the technology controls you. You should control the technology.” And not only Aaron, but many agree with him. As Miranda Kerr recently shared a similar sentiment regarding her children with husband Evan Spiegel.
Miranda shared, “My husband is very anti-screens for the young ones because that’s the way he was raised.” The couple already has four children, and they had to make conscious compromises to limit their screen time. However, compared to Aaron’s strictness, Miranda and her partner decided to loosen up on some things. It’s about things like watching a movie as a family from time to time, and similar activities.
