When you think of a music biopic, you probably imagine something dramatic and emotional: childhood struggles, big auditions, sold-out tours, and lots of hit songs. But Ariana Grande has a very different idea in mind.
Instead of a typical “rise to fame” movie, she once joked about telling her life story in a much stranger way, with a tiny mouse involved. Yes, a mouse. Somehow, this little creature would help tell the story of one of the biggest pop stars in the world.
Ariana Grande Says A “Tiny Mouse” Should Play Her In A Biopic

Grande has made it clear she is nowhere near ready to be made into a traditional biopic. Instead, she came up with a completely unexpected, yet hilarious idea. Despite a journey that has taken her from children’s television to chart-topping superstardom and now to the big screen, Grande insists she is not ready to see her life turned into a dramatic feature film.
In an Instagram video shared by Backstage on 9 February, she brushed off the very idea with her trademark humor. Instead of embracing the concept, she joked that the movie should be called “Scrap This and Don’t Watch It.” Rather than picturing an actress stepping into her famous high ponytail and recreating her biggest career moments, she offered a completely different vision.

“A tiny mouse with subtitles the whole time,” she said, laughing. Then she added, “I would like that, actually.” She did not stop there. She went on to imagine “a tiny, beautiful short film with mice reenacting my whole life with little, tiny subtitles at the bottom,” explaining that this is the only version she would actually be interested in watching.
Ariana Grande Reflects On Her Acting Return After ‘Wicked’

Although she treated the biopic question playfully, Grande has been reflecting seriously on her career, especially after completing her role as Glinda in Wicked. The film marked a major return to acting after years of focusing almost entirely on music. “Before Wicked, I hadn’t acted in a decade-ish,” she admitted, acknowledging how much time had passed since she last took on a significant acting project.

Her pop career, which had made her a global superstar, had taken over. She explained that her music success, which she remains deeply grateful for, “had taken on a life of its own,” becoming something she could never have predicted or carefully planned. That rapid evolution changed both her career and public image.
‘Wicked: For Good‘ proved to be a commercial success, earning an impressive $524 million worldwide. Despite its strong box office performance, the film surprisingly received no nominations.
