Actress Shannen Doherty who was known for her role in famous series including ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ and also in the witchcraft fantasy ‘Charmed‘ died at the age of 53. The actress was previously diagnosed with Breast cancer in 2015.
The news of her sad demise was shared through her publicist. Shannen lost the battle with cancer and Heaven gained an angel.

Shannen Doherty Dies At The Age Of 53
Doherty had been battling breast cancer since 2015. The following news was shared through her publicist Leslie Sloane, who made a statement to People saying: “It is with a heavy heart that I confirm the passing of actress Shannen Doherty. On Saturday, July 13, she lost her battle with cancer after many years of fighting the disease“.
Doherty rose to fame in 1990 as a beautiful-faced brunette Brenda Walsh in ‘Beverly Hills, 90210′. The show features her family along with her twin brother Brandon, moving out from Minnesota to Beverly Hills, who are constantly amazed by the antics of rich kids in LA.
The romance between Brenda and Dylan played by Luke Perry garnered a lot of controversy in the first season where Brenda considers losing her virginity. Dylan later hooked up with Kelly her best friend which led to their break up later the show was considered groundbreaking and also addressed topics like drug abuse and racism.

Shannen Doherty Legacy
‘Beverly Hills, 90210′ was a massive success and gained a lot of spotlight and gossip around it. Shannen was labelled a diva in the press and was also published in a newsletter as the ‘I Hate Brenda’. Doherty appeared in a total of 111 episodes before leaving the series at the end of season 4.
After her harsh departure from the show ‘Beverly Hills, 90210′, Shannon appeared in ‘Charmed‘ which was based on witchy sisters, who discover that they are witches and should work together against evil.
Shannen was born in Memphis, Tenn and later moved to LA with her family as a child and got a role in ‘Father Murphy‘. She was later cast in “Little House on the Prairie” as an 11-year-old.
Doherty also got featured in various movies including ‘Heathers’, ‘Girls Just Wanna Have One’, ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back‘, ‘Riverdale’, and she also produced her show called ‘Breaking Up With Shannen Doherty’, in 2006.
She was diagnosed with cancer in 2015 and in 2017 she was in remission. The cancer came back in 2019. The actress has been receiving radiation for her cancer since 2023 and we lost her now. May her soul rest in peace.
