Blake Lively, the golden girl of Hollywood, has found herself in hot water once again. The actress has been in the spotlight ever since the release of her latest film ‘It Ends With Us‘. Most people are mad at her for promoting the move in the wrong light.
However, the actress’ history has added fuel to the already lit fire. Blake’s old interviews have resurfaced, revealing a pattern of offensive and insensitive language towards the transgender community.
Blake Lively Has Used Derogatory Slur Several Times
Blake Lively’s use of a derogatory slur has ignited a firestorm of criticism on social media. The controversy erupted when a fan shared a quote from Lively’s 2012 Elle interview. In the piece, she casually mentioned her hopes for future children, stating, “I hope to have a few girls one day. If not girls, they better be trannies.”
Her use of such a derogatory term without breaking a sweat shocked fans. What makes it worse is that this wasn’t an isolated incident. Another interview resurfaced, this time from 2008 with Nylon magazine. In the interview, Lively used the same slur while dismissing rumors about her ‘Gossip Girl’ co-star Leighton Meester.
“You don’t listen to the rumors. Everybody is dating everyone, everybody hates everyone, everybody’s had tons of plastic surgery and we’re actually men and trannies,” she stated. However, while the usage of slurs sounds horrific, it’s important to note that societal attitudes and understanding of gender identity have evolved significantly since these interviews took place.
This also wasn’t the last time she used the slur. While talking to Allure in 2009, Blake talked about her own insecurities about looking like an intersex person. “I feel like a tranny a lot of the time. I don’t know, I’m … large? They put me in six-inch heels, and I tower over every man,” Lively said.
What might have been considered acceptable language a decade ago is now being widely condemned. Lively has not yet publicly addressed the controversy. Her silence only adds fuel to the fire.

Why Is Blake Lively Getting So Much Hate All Of A Sudden?
Blake Lively, once adored for her charming on-screen persona, is currently facing a wave of criticism. The primary focus of the backlash stems from her promotion of the film ‘It Ends With Us.’ The novel and the movie both tackle the sensitive issue of domestic violence.
However, Lively’s promotional efforts seemed more focused on her personal brand and fashion choices than the film’s serious subject matter. Additionally, rumors of a tense relationship with co-star and director Justin Baldoni have added fuel to the fire.
Justin’s promotional efforts have been all about the DV and highlighting the serious nature and message of the film. However, the same cannot be said for Blake.
In addition, past interviews where she exhibited perceived arrogance or dismissive behavior have also resurfaced. All of this and the recently surfaced comments have been contributing to her increasingly negative image.
