Many celebrities and actors are not taking it well as Hollywood opens its door for more inclusion! One of the new additions to the list is Richard Dreyfuss. The actor rose to fame with Steven Spielberg’s ‘Jaws’ in 1975. In 1977, he starred as a Broadway actor in ‘The Goodbye Girl’ for which he won an Oscar, becoming the youngest actor to have won the coveted trophy.
But Richard Dreyfuss is feeling nauseous with the new and upcoming rules for the submission in the ‘Best Picture’ category. The ‘Best Picture’ submission must tick two out of four inclusion boxes. It includes racial minorities, people with disabilities, a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, or a young crew member from an underrepresented group. However, the ‘Stand By Me’ actor is vehemently opposing the move.

Richard Dreyfuss Does Not Want Morality To Supersede His Artistry
During an interview with PBS, Richard Dreyfuss expressed his frustration about the new inclusion rules for the Oscars. Margaret Hoover, the host, asked the actor about “the new inclusion standards for films.”
Richard said, “They make me vomit. No one should be telling me as an artist that I have to give in to the latest, most current idea of what morality is. What are we risking? Are we really risking hurting people’s feelings?”
Dreyfuss continued, “You can’t legislate that. You have to let life be life and I’m sorry, I don’t think there is a minority or majority in the country that has to be catered to like that.”

Twitter Is Divided Over The Actor’s Remark
As per Variety, the new inclusion rules, which will be applicable starting in 2024, include “expanding on-screen representation, themes or narrative; expanding representation among creative leadership and department heads; providing industry access and opportunities to underrepresented demographics; and expanding representation in audience development.”
Nevertheless, his opinion has divided Twitter, as some of the Twitteratis are agreeing with the actor others are criticizing his stance.
Wow, he's not on script. This is gonna cost.

As he should. It's called free speech and the public ramifications that go along with that. He's 80 so I'm sure he gives ZERO SCHYTTS towards anyone's opinion.

I think what he’s trying to convey is, it’s the equivalent of the “participation trophy”. Are they earning it or being rewarded solely to include them and make the Oscar’s look better?

Richard Dreyfuss says inclusions standards for movies make him want to vomit.
He’s not wrong. The only goal should be entertaining paying customers.
It’s insane to pretend WWII movies need female or transgender soldiers to appease the woke mob. https://t.co/jYKai2kHTD
