Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s romance is the stuff of Hollywood legend. The duo met on the set of the 2005 action-comedy ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith‘, and soon after, they became the most talked-about couple in showbiz. Sure, the onus was on Jennifer Aniston, too, who was married to Pitt at the time.
By 2014, Brangelina tied the knot, already parents to six kids – Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. But the fairy tale came to a screeching halt just two years later, when Jolie filed for divorce in 2016.
Brad Pitt Reflects On His Divorce From Angelina Jolie

The 61-year-old Brad Pitt is now talking about his long and well-known divorce from Angelina Jolie after over 10 years of legal back and forth. The ‘F1‘ actor talked candidly about the fallout with GQ. When asked if he felt a sense of relief after officially reaching a divorce settlement in late 2023, Pitt kept it surprisingly mellow: “No, I don’t think it was that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally.”

The split stemmed from an alleged altercation on a private jet in 2016, during which Jolie accused Pitt of being physically abusive toward her and their children. The FBI launched an investigation, but according to a 2022 report, it was dropped with no charges filed. A child services inquiry also did not determine abuse and was closed that same year, as reported by the Associated Press.
Despite being declared legally single in 2019, it wasn’t until eight years later (in 2024) that Brad and Angelina officially settled their disputes over shared assets and custody. “More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt,” said Jolie’s attorney, James Simon. “She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family. This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”
A source close to Jolie added that she “doesn’t speak ill of [Pitt] publicly or privately,” noting that the actress has been “trying hard to be light after a dark time.” According to the insider, “The kids have grown up seeing that some people have so much power and privilege that their voices don’t matter. Their pain doesn’t count. They have wanted her to speak up for herself, to defend herself over these years, but she reminds them to focus on changing laws over telling public stories.”
“It’s Been In The News For 30 Years”: Brad Pitt Gets Real About Fame

“Um, I don’t see it that way,” Pitt said. “It’s been an annoyance I’ve had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do. So, it’s always been this kind of nagging time suck or waste of time, if you let it be that, I don’t know. I don’t know. Mostly I feel pretty… My life is fairly contained. It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am, that, you know, it’s like this fly buzzing around a little bit.”
Since 2022, Brad Pitt has been dating jewelry executive, Ines de Ramon. The couple seems to be keeping their lives private, and enjoying this phase of their lives away from media glare.
