Cameron Diaz has not starred in any movie since 2014’s, ‘The Other Woman’. Two years later, the actor officially announced her retirement from Hollywood. Talking on Fortune’s Most Powerful Women Summit on October 15, she revealed why she stepped down from acting. She said, “It felt like something I had to do to reclaim my own life. And I just really didn’t care about anything else.”
She stated, “It really comes to: What are you passionate about? For me, it was to build my family.” Cameron and her husband, Benji Madden welcomed their first child, a daughter in 2019 via surrogacy and a son in March 2024.
Cameron continued, “Nobody’s opinion, nobody’s success, no one’s offer, no one’s anything could change my mind about my decision of taking care of myself and building the life that I really wanted to have.”
Cameron Diaz Is ‘Back In Action’
Since her retirement, Cameron Diaz focused her time and energy on her family and building her business. The actor became a vintner and started her wine brand, Avaline with her friend, Katherine Power in 2020. In guidelines with her environmental activism, Avaline produces vegan wine.
