‘Saturday Night Live‘ didn’t hold back during its latest ‘Weekend Update‘ segment, as anchors Michael Che and Colin Jost began making jokes at the expense of President Donald Trump’s cabinet choices, including tech mogul Elon Musk. The mockery in this episode came shortly after the last episode where the Tesla CEO was made fun of.
Musk has been chosen to head Trump’s newly initiated Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and was the target of the segment’s first joke. Here’s how the roast went down this time, despite Musk reacting to the previous episode and slamming ‘SNL‘.
Michael Che Takes Aim At Elon Musk’s Task Force In Donald Trump’s Cabinet
‘Saturday Night Live’s first joke on the latest episode began with Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s recent appointment as the chief of President Donald Trump’s newly initiated Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which aims to “dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures and restructure Federal Agencies,” per the President-elect.
Picking up on the same, ‘Weekend Update’ anchor Michael Che noted that Musk has meanwhile posted job listings for his new task force, which would require his employees to work “80-plus hours per week for no money.”
“You can’t be surprised that the white African guy’s first idea is slavery,” Che said, taking aim at Musk’s roots.
Colin Jost also joined the roast, targeting attorney general nominee Matt Gaetz, who recently resigned from Congress amid new accusations of having sex with a minor, despite no charges from previous investigations. “Trump nominated Matt Gaetz for attorney general, and Gaetz said the same thing he says when he sees a teenage girl: ‘I’ll do it,'” Jost joked, earning groans and laughs alike.
Colin Jost Takes Political Hits At Matt Gaetz And Robert F. Kennedy
But that was not the end of it. Colin Jost likened Matt Gaetz to a monstrous creation. “Gaetz, who was created when Frankenstein raped Dracula, was chosen after Trump remembered that his original pick was found dead in a jail cell,” he said, referring to the death of Jeffrey Epstein.
The show also shot an arrow of sarcasm toward Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who had been tapped to run the Department of Health and Human Services. Jost joked about this pick by referencing Kennedy as “the first brainworm survivor” inducted to cabinet status.

He further added, “I know he doesn’t have much experience, but I say let’s give him a shot, over Kennedy’s vaccine skepticism“. In addition to the political humor, this week’s ‘SNL‘ had Charli XCX, who was on double duty by hosting the show as well as appearing as a musical guest.
