Chad Michael Murray had quite a successful career in Hollywood. Starting from the early 2000s, the actor has to his credit a number of successful films and has continued his career in Hollywood.
However, surviving in the industry wasn’t as easy as one would think. The actor revealed how after the success of ‘One Tree Hill’ he even contemplated ending his acting career.
Why Did Chad Michael Murray Want To Leave Hollywood?
Chad Michael Murray revealed that he was totally overwhelmed and prepared to break away from performing at one time in his life when he gave it serious thought. The actor, while he talked in an interview with Interview Magazine, shared his thoughts on stardom, the difficulties of the industry, and the lessons he learned from his early Hollywood career after he almost gave up acting after ‘One Tree Hill.’
He acknowledged that, as a young actor, he needed to completely understand the industry’s effect or the degree of respect required for the profession, the people involved, and every chance offered to him while thinking back on his early success in Hollywood.

“That was hard for me because there are so many eyeballs on you,” Murray explained. “And you go to the grocery store, and someone points at you, ‘Oh, that’s the guy that’s on the tabloid, or that’s the guy that did this.’ Even if they’re not talking about that, sometimes your head goes to a negative place, and I know mine did. And so I just pivoted at that point in my life and said, ‘You know what? This is not what I want.’”
“So I took a lot of time to reassess it all,” he added. “It took years of talking to people much smarter than me to get where I wanted to go.”
Chad Michael Murray Shares His Weirdest Fan Encounter
The 43-year-old, talking in the same interview also revealed a peculiar incident he encountered in a bar, and how it contributed to his decision of almost leaving the industry.
The actor said, “I remember we’d just finished shooting Tree Hill, and Craig Sheffer and I had gone down to Hell’s Kitchen, and we’re having a drink at this bar. This girl comes up — she was a super big fan. She came over, and she pulled her chest out on the bar, and said, ‘Could you sign these?’ ”
He added, “It was terrible. I’m talking, like, the worst autograph you could ever autograph. Anyway, I’m like, ‘Okay, all right, great, done. Thank you so much.’ Then two-and-a-half hours later, she returns and now has the autograph tattooed right there. That was one of those moments where I said, ‘I don’t ever want to write on any skin ever again because that’s on her body forever.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, gosh. Now, some boyfriend’s going to come beat me up 20 years down the road.”
