Chappell Roan confessed that she would rather “get arrested” than accept to act in movies. The ‘Good Luck, Babe!’ singer is enjoying the success of her recent album, ‘The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess’. Roan ranked second on the Billboard 200, before Taylor Swift. However, unlike many of her seniors in the music industry, this singer is unaffected by the glittering glamour of Hollywood.
Roan recently said that she has no interest in acting in films. Moreover, she has been turning down offers for roles. She revealed that the industry and its effect on the actors scares Roan. The ‘HOT TO GO’ singer prefers the lifestyle of a music career to acting. However, she did not completely squash all hopes of performing on cinema screens. Here’s what she said.
Hollywood Is “Scary” For Chappell Roan
Chappell Roan was speaking to her ‘Saturday Night Live’ partner, Bown Yang, when she revealed that she has been receiving acting roles but has turned them all down.
She said, “I’ve been asked in the past couple of weeks, like, ‘You want the lead in XYZ?’ and I’m like, ‘No’ … Literally, no.” The singer revealed the reason for declining the offers, “I get so freaked out by film people.”
The ‘Casual’ singer said she finds the pace of Hollywood out of her control, and finds the music industry more suitable.
Roan said, “I can put out music whenever I want. I don’t have to wait for a casting director to be like, ‘It would be great if we cast you, and then we’ll decide your schedule for the next three months.” She added, “I would rather get arrested. because I know how to operate myself in jail.”

Chappell Roan Says She Initially Planned To Be An Actor
In her interview, Chappell Roan revealed that she initially planned to be an actor. ” I originally started doing music because I wanted to get my foot in the door for acting,” she said.
However, after experiencing the industry, she immediately developed an aversion to lifestyle. “I’ve been trained how to act, but it’s the most stressful thing in the world to me’, Roan said.
However, the singer did not put down all hopes of entering the industry. She stated, “It would really have to be the right thing and the right timing.”
Roan also recently earned an artist nomination for the MTV Video Music Awards. The ‘My Kink Is Karma’ singer is scheduled to perform in the Awards ceremony in September.
