Christian Bale has finally reacted to the comparisons between his version of Frankenstein’s monster and Jacob Elordi’s take on the character, and the actor handled the moment with surprising humility.
As both actors brought the famous tragic figure to life in different films, fans naturally began comparing the performances. However, Bale has finally opened up about the controversy.
Christian Bale Shuts Down Any Competition With Jacob Elordi

While promoting his film ‘The Bride!‘, Bale was asked about Jacob Elordi’s portrayal of Frankenstein’s monster in Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein‘. The question raised was about the two actors competing over their versions of the iconic character. But Bale didn’t hesitate to shut that idea down: “Absolutely not. To me, there’s no competition.”

The Oscar winner explained that he simply doesn’t see acting that way unless he personally dislikes them, joking, “unless I just don’t like them personally.” Instead, Bale spoke highly of Elordi and admitted hearing that the ‘Euphoria‘ star was wonderful in del Toro’s film.
Bale then diverted the conversation with a joke as he pointed out that Elordi is extremely tall and “ridiculously good-looking,” and added, “How could I ever begin to compete with him?”
Bale Has Genuine Appreciation For Elordi’s Frankenstein’s Creature

In another interview with TODAY, Bale continued in the same warm tone when discussing Elordi. Bale compared Elordi to Adonis, the famous figure from Greek mythology known for his incredible beauty.

He also pointed out how Elordi’s natural height worked in his favor when playing Frankenstein’s monster. According to him, Elordi has the “real height” people imagine for the monster, while his own version relied on movie tricks. Laughing about it, Bale said his take on the character was basically “all fake.”
Even though Bale deliberately avoided watching Guillermo del Toro’s ‘Frankenstein‘ before filming ‘The Bride,’ he is convinced of Elordi’s dominance in Hollywood. Why? Bale believes the young actor simply has “a hell of a talent.” Of course, while people keep comparing the actors, the two films are telling very different stories.
