Cooper Koch is relishing the spotlight after playing Erik Menéndez on Netflix‘s ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story’. Koch’s portrayal of the complex character has been applauded by critics and audiences alike. To add raw depth to the character, Cooper performed a shower scene in the series, completely naked without any prosthetics. This daring act garnered a lot of attention.
Cooper is shocked at the overwhelming reaction to that particular scene. Being naked in front of the camera can be uncomfortable for many actors, but it’s not a big deal for him.
Cooper Koch Doesn’t Mind Being Naked On Screen
Cooper Koch shared on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show that nudity is very normal for him. “It is kind of shocking”, he said of the explosive reaction to his full-frontal nude scene on ‘Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menéndez Story’.
“I’m an actor, and I’m talking about doing a nude scene in a TV show, and, yes, the TV show also has to do with sexual abuse. Like, it’s just sort of an unfortunate pairing that happened,” Koch added. “I was comfortable doing it, and…we all have bodies and body parts, and it’s just sort of, like, normal for me.”
Cooper Koch Says On-Screen Nudity Isn’t New, So The Attention Surprised Him
Cooper Koch thought that nobody would be interested in seeing him bare his body as “so many people have done it before. It’s not like a new thing.” Moreover, this is not the first time when the actor has done such a scene. He has previously done a full-frontal naked scene in the 2022 body horror ‘Swallowed’. Considering the kind of discussions his shower scene in the Netflix series has sparked, the actor said, “So, I guess, yeah, I don’t know. I guess that’s just the way the media is.”

Moreover, on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens Live, the host talked about the most iconic full-frontal naked scenes. Mark Wahlberg’s prosthetic penis in ‘Boogie Nights‘ was mentioned, to which Koch quipped that he did not use any prosthetics for the scene. This prompted Cohen to say he is “very blessed“. Ahem, fans have been saying the same on social media.
