Final goodbye to Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. After the 2018 op-ed and the allegations made by Amber Heard, he has lost in a nutshell “everything”. The actor lost his role as Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beast franchise as Mads Mikkelsen took over. Now it looks like he won’t be returning as Jack Sparrow.
Pirates Of The Caribbean Producer Talks About Johnny’s Future In The Franchise
There were already rumors that Walt Disney does not want to associate with Johnny following Amber’s op-ed accusing him of domestic violence. As soon as the allegations came up he lost credibility and most of his roles were snubbed. He was never given a chance by Disney to publicly clear his name.
Finally, the franchise’s producer Jerry Bruckheimer confirms that Disney is going to replace Jack Sparrow. He has revealed to The Sunday Times that the studio is developing a script for Pirates of the Caribbean 6 with Margot Robbie. He also says there is another script without Margot Robbie. When asked about Jack Sparrow’s future he says “Not at this point. The future is yet to be decided.”
