Dwayne Johnson is clearing the air around some recent controversies that put him bad light and sent fans into a frenzy. These included rumours of him being late to sets, and peeing in bottles among other such bizarre allegations.
In an article published earlier this year, Johnson faced backlash for his controversial behaviour on sets as well. However, the actor is setting the record straight in an interview with GQ. Here’s everything he admitted.
What Allegations Was Dwayne Johnson Facing?
According to insiders, Dwayne Johnson arrived up to eight hours late for filming, causing the filmmakers of ‘Red One‘ to reshoot scenes around him. This reported chronic tardiness was partially blamed for the $250 million action-comedy’s increased budget in the widely shared April article.
The article also reported that the actor frequently urinated in water bottles while filming.
Director of the film, Jake Kasdan, also reacted to the allegations and said, “He has a lot going on. He can be late sometimes, but such is Hollywood—that’s the case with everybody. Honestly, I’ve made three big movies with him. I’ve never seen him be anything but great to every single person on the set.”
While Johnson stayed quiet until now about the various allegations against him, he is now speaking up and clearing the air.
Dwayne Johnson Reacts To Allegations Against Him
Dwayne Johnson recently spoke to GQ and responded to rumours of him peeing in bottles. “Yeah. That happens,” he said plainly, though he did not justify the act. Previous reports suggested that the actor pees in bottles during his workouts to save time. He now admitted that the habit extends to movie sets as well.
As for rumours of him being late to sets, he said, “That happens too. But not that amount, by the way. That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous.” The amount in question was 8 hours, as The Wrap had reported.

Elsewhere in the interview, he talked about how he’s transparent about anything and would answer any question the media and fans have for him. “I’ve said a thousand times. ‘Hey, I’m here. Come and ask me. And I’ll tell you the truth,” he said.
