Mark Ruffalo joined the recent online spat between Elon Musk and the politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. On 4 November 2022, Mark went full-on Hulk over Musk in a tweet over the recent changes in Twitter policies. Since Musk took over the reins of Twitter, he has caused quite a turmoil by charging an extra fee to maintain the blue tick of a verified account on the microblogging application.
Alexandria on 3 November 2022, questioned Musk in her tweet why people should be charged with eight dollars and “get bickered” while slightly calling him autocratic. She tweeted, “This is what my app has looked like ever since my tweet upset you yesterday. What’s good? Doesn’t seem very free speechy to me.”

Mark Ruffalo Slams Elon Musk
The marvel actor on Twitter asked the Tesla giant to leave the social media platform to maintain his credibility. The Hollywood actor retweeted Alexandria’s tweet mentioned above and wrote, “Elon. Please—for the love of decency—get off Twitter, hand the keys over to someone who does this as an actual job, and get on with running Tesla and SpaceX. You are destroying your credibility. It’s just not a good look.”

He indicated Musk’s management of the application was questionable and not sincere. The Twitter application has seen many controversies in the last couple of days since the new owner took over. At first, the controversy of the mass lay off bombed the employees. Later came the backlash after charging an extra fee for maintaining the verified status of the account.

Musk’s Reply To Mark
In light of these raised concerns, Elon Musk took to Twitter to defend his honor. He replied to Mark’s tweet, “Hot take: not everything AOC says is accurate.” In reply Mark again tweeted, “Maybe so. That’s why having robust filters for disinformation and credible verified users have been a popular feature for people and advertisers alike. We need those safeguards to make sure it’s accurate information, or the app loses credibility, as do you. And people leave.”

Twitter has been facing controversies since the new owner took over. Earlier, Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter, apologized to all the employees who had been laid off from Twitter and bore complete responsibility. He said in his twitter post, “Folks at Twitter past and present are strong and resilient. They will always find a way no matter how difficult the moment is. I realize many are angry with me. I own the responsibility for why everyone is in this situation: I grew the company size too quickly. I apologize for that.”
