Sharon Stone is getting ready to appear in ‘Euphoria‘ Season 3, a show known for bold and very explicit scenes. But instead of praising this style, she has shared a very different opinion.
Stone’s recent comments have started a conversation about how sex scenes have evolved. This has brought attention back to her past, especially her famous scene from ‘Basic Instinct‘, which is still talked about today.
Sharon Stone Says Intimate Scenes Show Too Much Nowadays

Stone appeared on CBS Mornings to promote her role in ‘Euphoria‘ Season 3. During the conversation, she shared her strong views on sex scenes in modern films and TV shows.
She feels things have changed too much, and not for the better. According to her, today’s scenes feel too “blatant” and “harsh,” and they no longer leave anything to the imagination.

Talking about her past, she mentioned her famous scene in ‘Basic Instinct‘ (1992): “It wasn’t even an entire frame of film.” She explained that, even though the moment was so brief, it sparked intense curiosity among viewers.
Stone added, “And so, people were desperately trying to figure it out. And I think that idea of, ‘Oh, my God.’ This hope, this wonder, this mystery, this intrigue, this yearning is something that is what all of our profound sexuality is based on.”
Stone Says She “Fast-Forwards” Modern Sex Scenes

Stone now avoids watching such scenes. She admitted that whenever a sex scene appears, she simply skips it. “I fast forward. I don’t want to see it,” she said. She prefers to feel some mystery and emotion rather than see everything clearly. For her, showing less creates a stronger feeling.

It closely aligns with her own experience in ‘Basic Instinct‘. In her 2021 memoir ‘The Beauty of Living Twice‘, she revealed that she did not know how the provocative scene would look until she saw the film.
She was told that nothing would be visible and was asked to remove her underwear only because the white fabric reflected light. But when she watched the film with her agents and lawyers, she saw the scene clearly for the first time.
Stone admitted the moment shocked her. She then went to the projection booth and confronted director Paul Verhoeven. She even slapped him for the lie.
Even after the controversy, ‘Basic Instinct‘ made her a huge star and gave her global fame. The film is still remembered as one of the most talked-about thrillers.
