The highly anticipated ‘Thunderbolts*’ is set to introduce a group of anti-heroes to the MCU. One of the new faces joining the team is Lewis Pullman, who plays Bob aka Sentry. Marvel being Marvel, has remained very secretive about the film and its characters.
Naturally, the details about Bob’s identity and powers remain shrouded in mystery. However, Pullman recently offered some insights into his audition process and the allure of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Lewis Pullman Recalls Shredders Being Everywhere On The Set
While recently talking on the Variety podcast, Lewis Pullman described the audition for ‘Thunderbolts*‘ as a secretive and intense experience. He claimed that the whole experience felt to him like he was part of the “cool kids table.” He likened it to joining the FBI, with strict security measures and limited access to information.

“And so it was a hell of an experience going out there and test screening. It felt like I was going into the FBI or something. It was all very locked and sealed,” Lewis explained. Pullman further revealed that he wasn’t allowed to hold onto the script for more than an hour.
In addition to that, there were shredders everywhere to ensure confidentiality. “They’re like, ‘You’re lucky to hold onto a set of sides for longer than an hour.’ There were shredders everywhere,” he added.
Moreover, despite the secrecy, Pullman was impressed by director Jake Schreier’s approach. Schreier sat down with Pullman and personally narrated the plot of ‘Thunderbolts*.’
Lewis Pullman Opens Up About About Filming ‘The Night Comes For Us’ And ‘Top Gun: Maverick’
In the same interview, Lewis Pullman also opened up about his experience filming the action-packed vampire thriller, ‘The Night Comes For Us‘. He revealed how his co-star Danny Ramirez helped him develop his character’s arc and facial expressions.
“He taught me this great thing, a way to break down the arc of a character with all these note cards,” Lewis explained.

He carefully mapped out his character’s reactions to ensure a believable and engaging performance. Despite the physical demands of the role, Pullman embraced the challenge of the stunt work, even though it took a toll on his body. “I got very battered over time, I would say. There was, yes, a combination of things that definitely weakened my body,” he added.
He further compared this experience to filming ‘Top Gun’ and claimed that it was much harder. Moreover, he remained tight-lipped about the third ‘Top Gun’ movie. However, he did acknowledge the possibility of a sequel if it aligns with Tom Cruise‘s vision for the character.
